Nadine Roose is a Senior at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California. She is raising funds to support a school outside of Addis with books and programs. She met the school director when she visited Addis in 2022

MacKenzie Averill is a high school student who lives in Issaquah. She is currently attending Bellevue college as part of their running start program. She is active in both her high school and college, and attends several clubs. MacKenzie has two moms, two younger brothers and a dog. Her youngest brother is 11 and was born in Ethiopia. She loves to travel and has had the opportunity to experience new cultures and countries, and was even able to visit her brother in Ethiopia. MacKenzie has a deep compassion for equality and women’s rights. She has always loved animals and is currently planning to go to WSU and study veterinary medicine. She is very excited to be a part of Open Hearts Big Dreams junior board!
