Open Hearts Big Dreams Fund (OHBD)
Open Hearts Big Dreams is a Seattle-based organization dedicated to meeting the challenge of increasing literacy, inclusion, innovation readiness, and leadership skills in Ethiopia and beyond. We publish colorful, culturally appropriate books for youth with our OHBD-Ready Set Go imprint. We provide training and opportunities for Ethiopian youth and educators in person and online.

Our History
In 2011, Ellenore Angelidis created Open Hearts Big Dreams as a volunteer organization to help raise the funds for a library in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, the birthplace of her daughter, in cooperation with Ethiopia Reads.
Upon visiting the library in person, Ellenore was moved by a powerful sense of potential for positive change. The scope of her projects quickly grew from fundraising, to book publication, to STEAM programs.
In 2017, Open Hearts Big Dreams became an independent 501(c)(3) organization and today it provides a range of programs to empower youth, in Ethiopia and beyond, to transform their future.
